The Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) Level I yoga instructor training based on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan is a 200 hour course. The course fee includes all weekends of instruction, practicum and evaluation, one year membership to IKYTA, the excellent KRI Teachers Manual and Yogi Bhanjan’s book: The Masters’ Touch.
Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga, arrived in the United States in 1969 with a stated purpose: "I have come to create Teachers, not to gather disciiples." For over 30 years, he traveled internationallyh teaching Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness. In 1969, Yogi Bhajan founded 3HO -- the Happy Healthy, Holy Organization, based on his first principle: "Happiness is your birthright." Through the Aquarian Teacher Program, Yogi Bhajan trained thousands of KRI Certified Kundalini Yoga teachers. In 1994, the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IKYTA) was formed to further spread these priceless teachings through the united efforts of Kundalini Yoga teachers worldwide.
Students will be required to attend all weekends, complete reading assignments, take a final exam, write up two yoga curricula, complete a 40 day sadhana (practice), attend a White Tantric yoga course, complete the requirements listed in the document entitled Student Certification Requirements and adhere to the Code of Professional Standards for Kundalini Yoga Teachers.
Areas of study will include asana and kriya, mantra and meditation, western as well as yogic anatomy and physiology, yogic philosophy and lifestyle, teaching methodology and practicum.
The Aquarian Teacher program is the KRI Level 1 Certification program in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. In Level 1 you will become an Instructor and learn the fundamental principles and practices of Kundalini Yoga. You will develop the skills to instruct students in Kundalini Yoga in a practicum setting, participate in early morning sadhana (spiritual practice), and experience the poweful transformational energy of White Tantric Yoga (see whitetantricyoga.com). This is a 220 hour course, which includes 180 of classroom instruction in a well-defined cirriculum which includes:
Teaching Kundalini Yoga Postures, Kriyas & Meditation
Role of a Kundalini Yoga Teacher
Yogic Philosophy & The Origin of Kundalini Yoga
Yogic & Western Anatomy
Humanology & 3HO Yogic Lifestyle
This program is open to both those who wish to become teachers and those who wish to immerse themsevles in the science of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan to deepen their own yoga and meditatioin practice.
Classes will meet, with some rare exceptions, from 8 am to 6 pm. Please note that in February we will meet daily for one week, otherwise classes will be held primarily on weekends, with 2 Fridays in the mix.
Yoga House is excited to offer this course led by Sada Sat Singh and Kaur. Two of the orignial students of Yogi Bhajan and teachers and practitioners of Kundalini Yoga since the 1970s, this husband and wife team offer a unique and seasoned perspective into this wonderful technology and the powerful teachings of Kundalini yoga.
Fee structure is as follows:
$500 deposit holds your space and I would be most appreciative if you make your deposit as soon as you can so I can gauge attendance.
No refund on deposit after April 1st.
$3000 (total with deposit) – if paid in full by April 1st.
$3200 paid after April 1st.
$3400 if paid in installments – unless a separate written agreement is made with Yoga House, the installment plan is only available with a valid credit card on file for automatic payments to be deducted.
Please pay $2000 minimum by the time the course begins, all payments due by July 18th.
